We met the way many people in our generation do these days: on a dating app. It’s where introductions happen, conversations start, and—every once in a while—something real begins.

Our story really took off in the Instagram DMs, where Tyler enthusiastically messaged, and Cassie responded with what can best be described as polite acknowledgment—usually in the form of “oh cool.” Tyler shared a driving range post. Oh cool. Then an ASU game. Oh cool.

Then came a snowboarding photo. This time, instead of “oh, cool,” Cassie asked if Tyler gave lessons. His response: “For you, I will.”

Sensibly, Cassie suggested meeting somewhere public first—just in case—so our first date took place at the driving range, which felt fitting given how it all began.

A week later (and after a few casual dinner dates), we found ourselves driving up Highway 50 for our first snowboarding day at Heavenly. Cassie was still learning, Tyler politely pretended not to notice every fall, and somehow that single trip turned into fourteen more that winter—including Christmas Eve, in the middle of a snowstorm.

The rest of the year unfolded quickly: blending our fur families, making a home together, and discovering that vaulted ceilings are, in fact, the enemy of sourdough.

In November, during what Cassie thought was a simple day trip to Tahoe, Tyler got down on one knee. Thanks to some very helpful strangers, the moment was captured on video—though Cassie said yes before the ring box was even open, so the suspense was short-lived.

Now, we’re inviting our favorite people to join us in one of our favorite places as we say “I do.”
